Stella A. Pensy

Pensy

Stella A. Pensy, 89, formerly of West Sunbury, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday at New-haven Court in Center Township, which she called home for the past five years.

Born Oct. 28, 1917, in Calumet City, Ill., she was the daughter of Stephen Kuzdrowski and was raised by George and Helen Sum.

She retired as a clerk at the West Sunbury Post Office after 28 years. She also had worked at Thompson's Market in West Sunbury and at the Spaide Shirt Factory in Butler.

Mrs. Pensy was a member of St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, St. Alphonsus Parish, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and was a Eucharistic minister.

She also was a member of the Associated Artists of Butler County and enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Kenneth Bryan of West Sunbury, Patricia and Joseph Baggiano of Sarasota, Fla., and DeeDee and Michael Newcaster of Butler; a son and his wife, Joseph and Robin Pensy of Orlando, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Gregory and Mark Bryan, Chris Lissard, Eric and Robert Bryan, Mary Lynn Bisone, David Murrman, Jayanne Matthis and Ryan and Emily Pensy; and 12 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by two stepbrothers, Chester and Louis Kuzdrowski, both of Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Pensy, who died Oct. 12, 1976, and one brother.

<B>PENSY </B>— Friends of Stella A. Pensy, who died Monday, April 16, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Wednesday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Thursday at St. Louis Catholic Church, West Sunbury, with the Rev. Richard Thompson of St. Alphonsus Parish officiating. Burial will be at the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001; the Associated Artists of Butler County, 344 S. Main St., Butler; Pa 16001, or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
