Donald 'Sarge' Miller

Donald Alexander "Sarge" Miller, 75, of Mars died April 8 at the UPMC Passavant hospital, McCandless Township.

Born July 14, 1931, in Clearfield County, he was the adoptive son of Harvey and Rebecca Miller.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and received three Bronze Stars, the Korean Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Mr. Miller, a 30-year resident of the Mars area, had been a truck driver for 40 years and belonged to Teamsters Union Local 538.

He was a member of the Dutilh United Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge, the American Legion and the VFW.

He was a volunteer firefighter for the Valencia/Mars Fire Department and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, Esther Helms Miller; a stepdaughter, Kathy Norman of Dallas, Ga.; three grandchildren; and stepchildren, JoAnne, Janet, Patricia and George and Ralph Ebert.

He was preceded in death by three previous wives, Pearl Miller, Olive Miller and Helen Miller.

<B>MILLER </B>— There will be no visitation. Graveside services with full military honors for Donald Alexander "Sarge" Miller, who died April 8, 2007, were Tuesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Adrian. The Rev. Anthony Fallisi officiated.Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.Arrangements were handled by the <B>Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home</B>, Kittanning.
