Marie Smith

Marie Smith of Butler died Wednesday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born in Butler, she was the daughter of the late James V. and Helen Collodi Clauser.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. She also belonged to the Butler Blind Association.

Surviving are a son, Richard E. Smith of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Barry (Diane) Besnecker of Kingwood, Texas, and Mrs. David (Debbie) Wick of Karns City; a brother, Richard (Snookie) Clauser of Butler; and a sister, Mrs. Betty McFadden of Wilkes-Barre.

She also is survived by six grandchildren, Chrissy Lechner and Ricky Smith, both of Butler, Jackie Fleischer of Kingwood, Lauren Leonard of Kentucky and Ryan and Amberly Wick, both of Karns City; and two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Tailur Lechner, both of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Smith, who died Dec. 7, 1980; a daughter, Cindy Smith, who died June 30, 2002; four brothers; and a sister.

<B>SMITH </B>— Friends of Marie Smith, who died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Center Avenue, with the Rev. James Dolan presiding. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael Parish will conduct a scriptural wake service at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
