John and Joanne Heim

John and Joanne Heim of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner Saturday at Garden Gate Restaurant in Prospect.

The former Joanne Knauer married Heim on June 1, 1957, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

They have two children, Thomas Heim of Virginia Beach, Va., and Patti Amos of McCandless Township.

They also have three grandchildren.

Heim is retired from Allegheny Power, where he worked in marketing for 31 years. He is a member of the Butler City Code Management Appeals Board and the board of the Butler Area Sewer Authority.

Mrs. Heim works in customer service for BASA.

The couple belongs to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, where Mrs. Heim is a member of the St. Paul Guild and the Christian Mothers.
