HARRISBURG — Two Freeport High School freshmen placed at the state High School Computer Fair for their work with Web sites.

Kellie Johnson took first place for curriculum-based Web page design at the competition at Dickinson College on May 22. Her page featured Alcatraz.

Christian Heilman took second place for his information-based Web page for a small business.

At the state fair, 148 students competed. Johnson won $500, and Heilman won $250.

The NexTier Bank Junior Bank Board members raised $1,450 in a 5K Run May 19 for the United Way of Butler County.The board includesLauren Southworth and Jeff Mitch from Butler; Tim Berteotti and Charlie Beck from Karns City; Madelynn Marburger, Matt Kennedy and Bryan Humphreys from Mars; Louis Butler and David Myers from Seneca Valley; Chad Stanley from Slippery Rock; and Kaitlyn Lucas and Jacob Timko from South Butler.
