Robert J. Sutton, 79, of Butler died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday at his home.

Born Nov. 27, 1927, in Butler County, he was the son of Samuel and Helen Blose Sutton.

He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He also belonged to the Armco Bowling League, the Armco Country Club, the NRA, the Acacia Club, the Shrine Luncheon Club, the Syria Temple, the Victory Lodge 694 F&AM and the Marquetry Society.

He retired from Armco-Butler Works after 40 years in electric repair. He loved golfing, hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred E. "Milly" Protzman Sutton, whom he married Nov. 22, 1950; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Connie) Nichols of Nixa, Mo., and Diana Spuhler of Pittsburgh; two sons, Dr. James A. Sutton of Minden, Iowa, and Samuel Sutton of Butler, and eight grandchildren. He also is survived by two sisters, Ora "Zip" Schomer of Florida and Peggy McPherson of Butler; and a brother, Donald Sutton of Carbon Center.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

<B>SUTTON </B>— Friends of Robert J. Sutton, who died Thursday, May 3, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>YOUNG Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman officiating. Burial will be at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.Victory Lodge 694 will hold a service at 6:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 201 W.
