Thelma D. Pezzuti

Thelma D. Pezzuti, 82, of East Brady, formerly of Bradys Bend, went home to be with the Lord Friday at the Chicora Medical Center in Donegal Township.

Born Sept. 13, 1924, in Avella, she was the daughter of Natale and Secondina Maragni Andreassi.

Pezzuti grew up on a farm in Kingwood, N.J. She also lived in Bronx, N.Y., and she studied dressmaking design.

She married Antonio J. "Tony" Pezzuti Oct. 5, 1946, and moved to Bradys Bend. In 1959, the family moved to Illinois. They returned to Bradys Bend in 1965.

She and her husband were the owners of the Bradys Bend Hotel in Bradys Bend for 14 years. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Chicora Medical Center; Roseland Community Hospital in Roseland, Ill.; and ACMH HospitalHospital. She also worked at the Metro Glass Plant in Dolton, Ill., and was employed at GM Aircraft Manufacturing in Trenton, N.J., during World War II.

After retirement, she continued to volunteer at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center and was a home health aide and companion.

Mrs. Pezzuti was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. She will be remembered for her smile, sense of humor and love of her children. She always said of her children: "They are the best." She was the best mom.

She belonged to St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend, where she was a Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Young at Heart Club and the Altar Rosary Society.

She also belonged to the American Legion Post 488 Auxiliary in Bradys Bend.

Surviving are four daughters, Nataline Phillips of Medina, Ohio, Mrs. James R. (Geraldine) Schrecengost of Sugarcreek Township and Mrs. Thomas R. (Marilyn) Magnani and Mrs. David H. (Pearl) Shultz, both of Bradys Bend; three sons, Vincenzo M. "Jim" Pezzuti and his wife, Debbie, of Chicora, Anthony J. Pezzuti of Bradys Bend and his companion, Barb Cima, and Phillip J. Pezzuti and his wife, Trisha, of Summerville; and two sisters, Elva Jane Ursitti-Picano and her husband, Sal, of Brunswick, N.Y., and Dina Ruocco and her husband, Joe, of Murray Hill, N.J.

Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Pezzuti was preceded in death by her husband, who died June 11, 1985; four brothers, and three sisters.

<B>PEZZUTI</B> — Friends of Thelma D. Pezzuti, who died Friday, May 4, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home,</B> 105 Fourth St., East Brady. Aparish prayer service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. AMass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Church, 915 State Route 68, Bradys Bend. The Rev. Anthony Ditto will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Bradys Bend.
