Betty Haseltine

Betty Hooks Haseltine, 84, of Penney Farms, Fla., formerly of Butler, died Friday at the Penney Farms Retirement Community.

Born July 26, 1922, in Butler, she was the daughter of Harry G. Hooks and Mary E. Walker.

She retired as a secretary in the trust department at Mellon Bank.

Mrs. Haseltine was a former member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a sister, Sarah J. Merkner of Pittsburgh; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Dora Mae) Foester of Wilmington, Del.; two stepsons, Marcus W. Haseltine of Brookhaven and Daniel P. Haseltine of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus W. Haseltine; a sister; and two brothers.

HASELTINE — Friends of Betty Hooks Haseltine, who died Friday, May 11, 2007, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Merkner and the Rev. Keith Hornung officiating.
