Eleanor Keener Emery, 67, of School Street in Bruin died at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at the ACMH Hospital, Kittanning, after a brief illness.

Born in Slate Lick, April 28, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Olive Shaw Keener.

She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Oneida Valley Road, Emlenton.

Mrs. Emery was a 1958 graduate of the Freeport High School. She taught release time education for Child Evangelism in Butler County and was currently serving as the treasurer of the organization. She had been employed at Associated Ceramics, near Saxonburg, prior to her marriage.

She enjoyed singing, crafts and scrapbooking.

Surviving are her husband, Dennis J. Emery, whom she married March 16, 1975, at the Bible Baptist Church in Yellow Dog, Armstrong County; her adoptive grandchildren, Katie, Kelsey, Kyle, Kaleb and Kassandra Cox, all of Bellesville, Ohio; five brothers and their wives, Richard Keener and Janet of Freeport, Donald Keener, Keith Keener and Charlotte and William Keener and Judy, all of Slate Lick, and Larry Keener of Marwood; three sisters and their husbands, Myrtle Friend and Clyde of Slate Lick, Janet Scott and Richard of Fenelton and Mary Lou Bouch of Orlando, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Donna Keener; a sister, Margaret Turko, who died in January 2006; and an infant brother, Kenneth Keener.

<B>EMERY</B> — Friends of Eleanor Keener Emery, who died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B>, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia.Visitation also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fellowship Baptist Church, where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Mark Carpenter and her brother-in-law, Rev. Dr. Larry L. Emery, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church in Ashtabula, Ohio, officiating.Burial will follow at the Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.Memorial contributions may be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church, 3727 Oneida Valley Road, Emlenton, PA 16373; or to Child Evangelism Fellowship, 138 E. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001.
