Thursday — Jack Lee Toth, 40, of Butler was arraigned on a charge of aggravated assault in connection with the July 2 beating of another man on East Jefferson Street.Police said Toth struck Earl Stoops, 45, of Center Township in the back of the head with an unknown object, and punched the victim several times in the face.Stoops, following the attacks, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and treated for cuts and a facial fracture under the left eye. Police noted that Stoops' false teeth were knocked out and broken.Toth is in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond.

1:27 a.m. today — Jory Melik, 18, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence at South McKean and Cunningham streets in Butler.4:40 p.m. Wednesday — Acar driven by Clarence Thomas, 53, of Butler and a pickup truck driven by Edward Bricker, 51, of Evans City collided at Route 68 and Eagle Mill Road in Connoquenessing Township. Bricker suffered minor injuries.Tuesday — Thieves used a credit card between June 25 and Tuesday to withdraw $400 from automated teller machines, without the permission of the cardholder, a 90-year-old CenterTownship woman. Police have suspects, described only as "known females," in the case.
