Clifford W. Baker
Clifford W. Baker, 85, of Lancaster Township died Sunday at Jameson Hospital, New Castle.
His wife of 62 years, Margaret Roman Baker, died Tuesday.
Born Sept. 11, 1921, in Lancaster Township, he was the son of William and Nora Moyer Gerwig Baker.
Mr. Baker was a lifelong resident of Lancaster Township.
He retired from the Armco-Ambridge Works after 39 years as a crane operator.
His pastimes included farming, country music and local history. He had been a member of the Northwest Pennsylvania Steam Association for years and was a former member of St. Peter's Reformed Church in Middle Lancaster.
He is survived by a son, Bernard Baker and his wife, Sally, of Evans City; a daughter, Shirley A. Baker of New Castle; three grandchildren, Glenn D. Baker and his wife, Diane, of Prospect, Jennifer Baker Vasil and her husband, David, of Stow, Ohio, and Amy S. Baker of Evans City; and a great-granddaughter, Sarah Baker of Prospect. Also surviving is a sister, Blanche Grimm of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Gerwig and Donald and Robert Baker; and two sisters, Helen Gerwig Kline and Viola Baker Deering.
