Kaufold

Blanche L. Kaufold, 95, of Valencia died Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia surrounded by her family.

Born July 25, 1911, in Penn Hills, she was the daughter of William and Clara Kiser Sum.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Kaufold was a 79-year member of the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church. She was a past president of the Democratic Woman's Club of Butler and one of the founders and a past president of the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.

She fostered more than 25 children and cared for her invalid brother-in-law, husband and mother. She had been a midwife during the 1930s and had been a Butler Eagle carrier for years.

She enjoyed going to church, crocheting, quilting, shopping, going out to dinner, playing cards and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

A beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by two sons, Dan Kaufold of Valencia and Jim Kaufold of Renfrew; two daughters, Connie Wise of Valencia and Mrs. Dorothy Neely of Butler; six grandchildren, Cindy (Herb) Snider, Debbie (Doug) Gruntz, Bill (Jen) Wise, Mindy (Matt) Sevcik, Jeanna (Chuck) Martin, and Dianna (Jeff) Crites; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Rachel Snider, Alan and Adam Gruntz, Amanda and Megan Wise, Jake Sevcik, Nicholas Martin and Julianna and Jordan Crites.

Preceding her in death were her husband, John Kaufold, and two brothers, Dan and Leroy Sum.

<B>KAUFOLD </B>— Friends of Blanche L. Kaufold, who died Saturday, June 16, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Glade Run United Presbyterian with the Rev. Greg Wiest officiating.
