Evelyn Irwin Golec
Evelyn Irwin Golec, 86, of Evans City Road died Sunday at the Sunnyview Home.
Born Oct. 19, 1920, in Fenelton, she was a daughter of Warren and Mary Belle Ross Irwin.
She was a 1939 graduate of Butler High School and graduated from nursing school in 1942. She had been a registered nurse in the maternity department at Butler Memorial Hospital and retired in 1974 after 32 years. She also worked at Sunnyview Home for nine years.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are two sons, J. Brian Golec and Richard D. Golec and his wife, Carol, all of Butler; a daughter, Lana Godina of Tampa, Fla.; twin brothers, David Irwin of East Brady and James Irwin of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Madelyn Shaner of Sharon, Mrs. James (Margaret) Colligan of East Brady and Mrs. Walter (Linda) Barnes of Spring Arbor, Mich.; her companion, Wilmer J. Geibel of Tennessee; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Joseph B. Golec, whom she married May 1, 1943, died Jan. 17, 1993. Two sisters and a brother also preceded her in death.
<B>GOLEC </B>—Friends of Evelyn Irwin Golec, who died Sunday, June 24, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Pierre Falkenhan, her church pastor, officiating.
