Nora M. Whipkey

Nora Martha Whipkey, 75, of Plaingrove-North Liberty Road in Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County, died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Butler, Feb. 12, 1932, she was the daughter of Phillip Gabriel Gould and Lillian Marian Cricks Gold.

She was a homemaker; and in her later years, she worked at the Grove Manor Nursing Home in Grove City for a few years.

Mrs. Whipkey enjoyed bingo, bowling and poker.

Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Lacey A. and Timothy Richardson of Volant; two sons, Kenneth C. Gould of West Sunbury and Dale H. Whipkey Jr. of Butler; two brothers, Cecil Gold and Joseph Gould, both of Butler; and three sisters, Rose Zarnick of California and Maryland Hazel Maskal and her husband, Steve, and Patty Hartle, all of Butler. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Jared, Craig, Vincent, Shane, Christopher, Amand and Dylan; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Herbert Whipkey Sr., who died June 4, 1990; five brothers, and a sister.

<B>WHIPKEY </B>— Friends of Nora Martha Whipkey, who died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Mahaffey, pastor of the North Liberty Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.
