Selma Claire Banner, 92, of Bruin died of natural causes at 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

Born near Bolivar, Westmoreland County, April 1, 1915, she was a daughter of William Hunt Wolfe and Lottie May Miller Wolfe.

She was a Protestant and had attended school in Bolivar.

Mrs. Banner enjoyed quilting, playing cards, creating baby dolls and making table lamps and candles.

She had been a waitress and short order cook at the Summit Diner on Route 422, near Butler, for eight years.

Surviving are a son, Gary L. Banner and his wife, Mary Ann, of Chicora; two daughters, Sandra Pennington and her husband, Gilbert, of Parker and Dorothy Birckbichler and her husband, Louis, of Chicora; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Banner of Prospect; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Her husband, W. Kenneth Banner, whom she married June 26, 1933, in Saltsburg, died Jan. 22, 1989. She also was preceded in death by three sons, Kenneth W. Banner, who died Dec. 11, 1986, Ronald G. Banner, who died Jan. 19, 1938, and James A. Banner, who died Dec. 28, 1942; a daughter, Darlene Lohr, who died July 5, 1969; four brothers, Roy, James, Merle and Russell Wolfe; and a sister, Delnora Burkett.

<B>BANNER </B>— Friends of Selma Claire Banner, who died Sunday, July 29, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Richard d. Hillis funeral home</B>, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Edward Sanner, associate pastor of the Martinsburg Community Church of Bruin, officiating. Burial will follow at the Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.Memorial contributions may be made to the Martinsburg Community Church, Bruin, PA 16022.
