Air Force Senior Airman

Shannon Hilderbrand, daughter of Larry and Janice Hilderbrand of Butler, recently participated in the 60th Air Mobility Rodeo at McChord Air Force Base, Wash.Hilderbrand, a security forces airman with the 911th Air Wing in Pittsburgh, is a 2003 graduate of Butler High School.As part of a security forces three-man team, she competed in the combat challenge course, combat weapons course and combat tactics. To prepare for the event, she did a lot of physical, first aid and life saver training and found her biggest challenge was carrying the more than 35 pounds of full battle gear during each event.

Air Force Airman <B>Paul Linski </B>has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.He is the son of Paul Linski of Butler and Cindy Monk of Prospect.Linski is a 1998 graduate of Slippery Rock High School.——

Marine Corps Reserve Pvt. <B>Russel Hanson</B>, son of Dione Brown of Butler and Charles Hanson Sr. of Kingston, Mo., recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif.——

Air Force Airman <B>Karl Hillwig </B>has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.He is the son of Jon Hillwig of East Brady and Christine Mooney of Mars.Hillwig is a 2006 graduate of Karns City High School.——
