Butler County Community College's Succop Theater presents the Pittsburgh Philharmonic at 8 p.m. tonight.
Under the direction of Roger Tabler, the 70-member symphony orchestra will play traditional carols and classical favorites, including Leroy Anderson's "Sleigh Ride," and will feature an audience sing-a-long.
This year marks the sixth performance of the Pittsburgh Philharmonic as part of the Succop Theater's Performing Arts Series.
Keeping the spirit of the season, Phi Theta Kappa, BC3's honors society, will light the luminaries leading the path to the theater. The performance will be followed by a light cookie and punch reception in the theater lobby.

Butler Arts Council's fourth annual Ring in the Arts! New Year's Eve celebration is once again scheduled to include a wide array of entertainment choices.This year's schedule includes Brian Sholes on acoustic guitar, Butler Symphony Chamber Orchestra, Tom Panei with acoustic rock, the blues and rock of Blue Max Schang, Tornado Big Band, Waldo Young One Man Band, magician Tim Kutch, the singing Bishop Sisters, Elliot Roth on piano and vocals, and the country music of Sarah Wilson, among many others.Hours are 6 p.m. to midnight in downtown Butler.Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 16 and free for those younger than 5. CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry-based band Invincible Spirit has released its third CD, "Happy Birthday Jesus."The collection of Christmas songs covers a range of both up-tempo renditions of "Joy to the World" and a Van Morrison-like "O Come O Come Emmanuel" to the softer "Mary Did You Know" and "O Come All Ye Faithful."Invincible Spirit has been the team leading the popular Life Teen Mass at St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church in Cranberry for the past six years.Members of the band are John Bonessi, Steve Lyman, Rich Byrnes, Dee Roccon, Suzanne Fenello, Tamey Sucharski, Tony Poleti, Frank Lewis and Bill Wesley.Also featured on the CD is Brianna Sucharski singing a the title track "Happy Birthday Jesus."
