James Karenbauer
James A. "Jim" Karenbauer, 64, of Whitestown Road died Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 6, 1942, in Chicora, he was a son of James J. Karenbauer and the late Hazel Mottern Karenbauer.
He was a 1960 graduate of Butler High School. He served in the Air Force during the early 1960s and was a member of American Legion Post 778.
Mr. Karenbauer had worked at Pullman Standard from 1965 until the company closed in 1982. He next was the Butler Township zoning officer for three years and then moved to Trinity Industries, where he worked until the plant closed.
He was a Roman Catholic.
Surviving are his wife, Janice Mueller Karenbauer, whom he married Nov. 7, 1964; two daughters, Mrs. William (Amy) Vardy and Holly B. Karenbauer, both of Butler; his father and stepmother, James J. and Rose Karenbauer of Butler; two brothers, Gene Karenbauer of Butler and Brad Karenbauer of Chicora; and three sisters, Mrs. George (Raylene) Rekich of Butler, Renea Strobel of East Butler and Mrs. Thomas (Jana Jo) Becker of Glennallen, Alaska. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Brittany, Breanna and Brandon Vardy, all of Butler; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
<B>KARENBAUER </B>— Friends of James A. "Jim" Karenbauer, who died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in North Oakland with his cousin, the Rev. Richard Karenbauer, pastor of St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church in New Kensington, officiating.
