Edwin Goodhart, Jr.
Edwin "Eddie/Ed" Goodhart, Jr., 56, of Butler died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born on Dec. 20, 1950, in Mechanicsburg, he was the son of the late Edwin and Helen Frye Goodhart.
A graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, he served in the Army National Guard, Air Force and Army where he was a warrant officer at his time of his discharge. He was a Black Hawk Helicopter pilot and served in the United States and Central America.
Mr. Goodhart worked in the maintenance department at St.Barnabas Health System. He was formerly employed by PAC Industries repairing industrial laundry equipment.
He enjoyed computers, helicopters, old cars, tractors, old movies. He was known for his quick wit and his sense of humor.
He is survived by his fiance, Betsy Spiece Rogers; two sons, Blue Williams of Mechanicsburg and Shane Corica of Monessen; a daughter, Piper Williams of Texas; a sister, Denise and her husband, Pete Konter of Florida; his favorite cat, Wicket; a granddaughter, Isabella Corica; a niece; and he was like a brother to Linda and her husband, David "Leo" Burgoon of Butler, Scott and his wife, Diane Spiece of Butler and William "Bill" and his wife, Phylis Spiece of Butler.
He also is survived by Betsy Spiece Rogers' children, Matthew Rogers of Savannah, Ga., Eric Rogers of Pittsburgh, Sara and her husband, Bryan Griest of Butler and granddaughter, Paige Griest.
<B>GOODHART</B> — Friends of Edwin "Eddie/Ed" Goodhart will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis L. Krajacic of Community Alliance Church officiating.
