City man faces assault charges
A Butler man is charged with the rape of a 14-year-old city girl in January.
Paul Lachoppa, 24, is charged by city police with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, sexual assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children.
The police report was filed Dec. 9.
Lachoppa, formerly of McKeesport, has another pending case in Butler. He is charged with simple assault for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Amber Crider, 20, during an argument Nov. 18 at the couple's Linden Street home.
He waived to court his preliminary hearing in that case.
Lachoppa is in Butler County prison in lieu of $50,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is Jan. 7.
In Allegheny County, he pleaded guilty to harassment in 2002 and to retail theft in 2004.
