Bertha Umbaugh

Bertha Eunice Umbaugh, 89, of Kittanning died Thursday at the Armstrong County Health Center in Kittanning.

She was born on Oct. 22, 1918, in Washington Township, Armstrong County, the daughter of William Henry and Sarah Eunice Hooks Wyant.

Mrs. Umbaugh was the former owner and operator of Joe and Ed's Sunoco in Manorville and Umbaugh's Quaker State in Kittanning.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kittanning, the Eastern Star 277 and the Rayburn Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Umbaugh is survived by two sons, Larry D. Umbaugh and his wife, Judy, of Kittanning, and Joseph W. Umbaugh and his wife, Gloria, of Worthington; a daughter-in-law, Candida Umbaugh of Kittanning; two grandsons, Brian Umbaugh and his wife, Cathy, and Larry Roy Umbaugh; three granddaughters, Gidget Reitler and her husband, Larry, Bonnie Sedlacek and her husband, Donald, and Beth Umbaugh; eight great grandchildren, Brittany and Nicholas Reitler, Amanda and Ashley Umbaugh, Errett and Jillian Sedlacek, and Haley and Alfred; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Umbaugh Sr., whom she married July 20, 1945, and who died March 29, 2005; a son, Edwin L. Umbaugh, who died Sept. 26, 2005; three brothers, Dean P. Wyant, Joseph Wyant and William Wyant, and a sister, Marie Wyant Lucas.

<B>UMBAUGH — </B>Friends of Bertha Eunice Umbaugh, who died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday at the <B>SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME,</B> Kittanning. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Johnson, pastor of the St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Brush Valley Church Cemetery.
