Kathleen Byers

Kathleen Byers, 93, of Saxonburg died Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

Born Sept. 4, 1914, she was raised in Brackenridge.

She had been a press operator at Du-Co Ceramics and a laborer at Schenley Distillery.

Mrs. Byers was a member of Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed bingo and traveling.

Surviving are a son, Hal (Kathy) Byers of Las Vegas, Nev.; her daughters, Marsha Cunningham of Valencia and Mrs. Jeff (Patricia) Saunders of Butler; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother; a half-brother, and her husband, Albert F. "Dutch" Byers, who died July 11, 2007.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Brewer officiating.
