Joan Geibel Alwine
Joan Marie Geibel Alwine, 77, of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Butler, died Saturday.
Born Feb. 12, 1930, in Herman, she was the daughter of Henry Aloysius and Dorothy Cecelia Miller Geibel.
Surviving are seven sons, Tommy Alwine (Helen) and Terry Alwine (Karen), all of Butler, Roger Alwine (Patty) of Stow, Ohio, Chester Alwine (Gerry) of Butler, Alfred Alwine Jr. (Sandra) of Akron, Randy Alwine (Michelle) of Warsaw, Ohio, and Darryl Alwine (Cindy) of Worthington; 32 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren and one on the way. A sister, Leona Geibel Davis of Sugar Creek Rest, formerly of East Butler; a brother, Donald Geibel of Sarver; many nieces and nephews, and many close friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Charlene and Darlene; and seven siblings, Dorothy Geibel Thoma, Margaret Geibel Weber and James, Regis, Henry, Aloysius "Curly" and Francis "Pete" Geibel.
<B>ALWINE </B>— Friends of Joan Marie Geibel Alwine, who died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home</B>, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
