N. Richard Cokain
N. Richard "Dick" Cokain, 80, a 10Z\x-year resident of Sunset Avenue, Grove City, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Living Center, Grove City, after a long illness. He had been a resident at Trinity for a month.
Born in Irwin Township, Venango County, March 10, 1927, he was the son of Thomas W. and Dora E. Turner Cokain.
He retired from the Harrisville Post Office as a rural mail carrier in 1988. Formerly, he worked in the accounting department at Cooper Energy Services.
Mr. Cokain was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and a former member of the Barkeyville United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher, lay reader and on the administration board.
He was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association, the National Rifle Association and a former member of the Log Cemetery Association, having served as secretary for 40 years.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and hiking. He was an avid bicyclist and founded and organized the R.O.M.E. O's bicycling group.
He married Dolores Kiser on June 27, 1997. She survives along with a son, Thomas Cokain and his wife, Beverly, of Hermitage; two grandchildren, Regan Cokain of Hermitage and Keenan Cokain and his wife, Kristen, of Bethel Park; a sister, June McQuistion of Franklin; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Daniel (Gail) Kahle of Franklin and Ronda O'Donnell and her husband, William, of Media; three stepsons, Terry Kiser and his wife, Dana, of Pawleys Island, S.C., Larry Kiser and his wife, Val, of Grove City and Gary Kiseri of La Mesa, Calif.; and 11 step-grandchildren.
His first wife, Agnes Miller, whom he married May 12, 1951, died June 14, 1982.

Richard "Dick" Cokain, who died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 819 Columbia Ave., Grove City, with the Rev. James Seeley and with the Rev. Stephanie Thompson, pastor of the Barkeyville United Methodist, assisting.
