9:27 p.m. Tuesday — Darryl Wallar Jr., 30, of Stone Mountain, Ga., was arrested on drug charges after he was caught inside a convenience store following a traffic stop on West Jefferson Street.Police pulled over Wallar, who was driving a sport utility vehicle. The suspect got out of the vehicle and ran into the nearby Butler Amoco/Cigarette Shop. An officer chased Wallar and, after a trip around the counter and a clothing rack, the defendant was nabbed.The officer said he saw Wallar throw a clear plastic baggie into a garbage can before being caught.The suspect, according to a police report, said he ran into the store "cause he needed change."Waller was searched and found with a digital scale that contained suspected cocaine residue. He was arrested and placed in a cruiser. Police said they also found the defendant with $1,240.Meanwhile, the baggie was retrieved from the garbage can, and police said it contained suspected crack cocaine.Wallar was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and two other traffic violations.He was placed in Butler County Prison but released Thursday on $25,000 bail.11:48 a.m. Tuesday — Nicholas John Rodgers, 18, was arrested on drug charges after police found 27 stamp bags of suspected heroin at his Mitchell Avenue house.Police were called to the home after county probation officers went there looking for the suspect. Police also found a scale and marijuana pipe in the home.Rodgers, who is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, is in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

7:17 a.m. Wednesday — Acar driven by Phillip Heasley, 17, and a sport utility vehicle driven by William Wyant Jr., 55, both of Butler, collided on Route 356 at the Point Plaza shopping center.

4:17 p.m. Feb. 29 — Avehicle driven by Jessie Young, 21, of Moon Township, Allegheny County, struck an embankment after sliding off Lindsay Road.

3:46 a.m. Thursday — Heather McAnallen, 21, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car got struck in the snow along Minich and Elliott roads in Center Township.1:48 a.m. Thursday — Chris Gehenio, 32, of Colorado Springs, Colo., was arrested for suspicion of DUIat Route 228 and Ekastown Road in Buffalo Township.Wednesday — About 500 pounds of copper cable were stolen between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Soose Auto Wreck and Salvage in Center Township.

Monday — Three men are suspected in the theft of a garden tractor at the Lairds Crossing Road home of Robert Brink in West Franklin Township. The suspects, all either 20 or 21 years old from Kittanning and Worthington, were not immediately charged.
