John Gary Adams, 56, of 600 Freeport Road died at 9:08 a.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Phillipston, Brady Township, Clarion County, May 24, 1951, he was a son of Jean Louise Gray Adams of Shreveport, La., and the late John B. Adams, who died Feb. 18, 1996.

His family moved from Phillipston to Valencia during his childhood, and he graduated from Richland High School in 1969.

He served in Korea with the U.S. Army and Air Force.

He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and comic books.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Nicole Adams and Jennifer Ow, both of Butler County; a sister and her husband, Lettie Barnett and Wayne of Shreveport; and several nieces and nephews.

<B>ADAMS </B>— Friends of John Gary Adams, who died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B>, 758 Main St., Rimersburg. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Nancy Zahn, pastor of Centerville-Taylor United Methodist Church near Uniontown, officiating. Burial will follow at Rimersburg Cemetery.
