Eric Christopher Smith, 29, of Evans City died unexpectedly Monday.

Born Dec. 19, 1978, in Ellwood City, Eric enjoyed bowling, being outdoors and spending time with his dogs.

He had attended Slippery Rock University and loved his job at Fidelity Investment Services in Cranberry Township.

Eric was beloved by his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Vicki Rotnour Smith and stepfather, Ed Grindel, of Evans City; his father, Bruce Smith and stepmother, Jan Smith of Dallas, Texas; a half-brother, Christopher Smith and a half-sister, Kelly Smith both of Dallas; his maternal grandparents, Dot and Art Rotnour of Harmony; aunts and uncles, Cynthia and David Hill of Kansas, Sherry Buzzard of Harmony and Patti and Mark Helgerman of Harmony; cousins, Brian Hill, Cheryl Hill, Abby Elsess, Jennifer Schoeffel, and Joshua, Emily and Kristen Helgerman.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ivor and Rocky Smith.
