James and Ruth Bryan

James and Ruth Bryan of Mount Chestnut celebrated 50 years of marriage March 9 with a dinner party at the home of Marilyn Pesci, Mrs. Bryan's sister. The couple's nephew, the Rev. Thomas Pesci of the East Brady Baptist Church, officiated as they renewed their vows.

Bryan married the former Ruth Vargo on March 7, 1958, at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church.

They have two sons, Robert Bryan of Walesca, Ga., and David Bryan of New Brighton. They also have four grandchildren.Bryan is retired from his job as a driver and salesman at Keystone Bakery in West Bridgewater.Mrs. Bryan graduated from the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She is a homemaker.The couple belongs to The Presbyterian Church of Prospect.
