Nelson J. "Whitey" Cox, 78, of New Sewickley Township died Sunday at The Medical Center, Beaver.

Born Sept. 25, 1929, in Washington County, he was the son of Thomas A. and Minnie Rhodes Cox.

Mr. Cox was a member of the Church of the Living Christ, West Bridgewater, where he made several missionary trips to Honduras. He also was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and the Big Knob Grange.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy M. "Dot" Brenckle Cox, whom he married Dec. 1, 1956; seven children, David and Sandi Cox of Evans City, Richard and Mary Patricia Cox of Beaver Falls, Mary Jane and James Brunton Jr. and Joanne and Bill Brunton, all of Independence Township, Donna and John Lutz and Darla and Al Frederick, all of Zelienople, and Steven and Edith Cox of New Brighton; one brother, Donald Cox of Texas; three sisters, Kay Everett of Canonsburg, Wilma Decker of Avella and Mildred Wonderling of Waynesburg; 31 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Glen Cox.

<B>COX </B>— Friends of Nelson J. "Whitey" Cox, who died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Living Christ, 699 Riverside Drive, West Bridgewater. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. David Howells, senior pastor, and the Rev. Henry Howells, pastor emeritus, officiating.Interment will follow in the English Lutheran Church Cemetery, Zelienople.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Church of the Living Christ, Honduras Missionary Fund, 699 Riverside Drive, West Bridgewater, PA 15009.Arrangements are entrusted to the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E.
