Francis W. Flick
Francis W. Flick, 94, of Zelienople died Monday at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.
Born May 10, 1913, in Harmony, he was the son of Stewart and Fern Houck Flick.
He was a World War II Army veteran and participated in the D-Day landing on Omaha Beach. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal and American Defense Service Medal. He was a life member of the DAV, American Legion Post 474 of Zelienople and the VFW.
Mr. Flick retired in 1965 from Halstead Industries.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Fleckenstein Flick, who he married March 28, 1944; two daughters, Frances Jean and Nancy L. Flick, both of Zelienople; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Crowley of Ellwood City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Flick, and two sisters, Elizabeth Hetrick and Jane Kennedy.
