Thomas D.'Del' Osborne
Thomas D. "Del" Osborne, 77, of Partell Street, died at 5:59 a.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born April 19, 1930, in Franklin, he was the son of Delbert George and Alice Isabelle Whitten Osborne.
Mr. Osborne was a member of the North Main Street Church of God and was very active in his church. He was a former member of the board of trustees of the church. He was a member of the Keenagers Sunday school class.
He retired from then-Butler Armco in 1990 after 31 years of service as a senior electrical engineer.
He was an avid hunter and a member of the National Rifle Association.
In his later years he enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the former Armco Country Club and various golf leagues. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, and he also was part of a group of senior walkers at the Clearview Mall.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Beach Osborne, whom he married Oct. 6, 1950.
He also is survived by three daughters, Linda Weigle Baird Osborne of Butler, Patricia Stoops and her husband, John, of Butler, and Barbara Roth and her husband, Brian, formerly of Prospect, and currently of Youngsville, N.C.; six grandchildren, Justin Weigle, DuWayne Baird and his fiancée Caitlin, Jennifer Kirwald and her husband, Shawn, John Stoops and his wife, Beth, Brendan Roth and Megan Roth; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Eric, Tyler, Anthony, Lauren and Carson; a stepbrother, Ross Crist of Naples, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
<B>OSBORNE</B>— Friends and family of Thomas Osborne, who died Saturday, March 8, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 124 E. North St.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from The North Main Street Church of God with the Rev. Kenneth C. Hall and the Rev.
