Drop Tiger Ranch charges
What do you do with a feral cat that keeps having and leaving kittens at your house?
After three litters, asking friends to take a kitten, and putting ads in the newspaper, something has to be done.
So you borrow a live trap and catch the cat.
But now what? Call the veterinarian's office.
How much? It has to have shots before you can have it spayed — $200-plus.
Call the Humane Society. They are full and not taking cats now.
Friends suggest that the cat be shot.
Then someone says, "Tiger Ranch, $40, no shots required; bring her in a cat carrier in the morning and pick her up that night, spayed."
Now you can see why veterinarians want Tiger Ranch out of business — money. If Linda Bruno can do it for $40, why can't they?
All those volunteers at Tiger Ranch on the day of the raid — where did they come from? The word was out at the vets' offices: Send everyone to Tiger Ranch when we raid it.
Where else will take a stray cat? Animals get sick and die even with the best of care.
At least Bruno, as operator of the Tiger Ranch, tried and never asked for a cent of money from you.
I thank Bruno for the help she gave our family and hope all the charges against her are dropped.
She tried where others did not.
Toss them out of cars; we have no room for a cat. Or, the price is so high at the vet's office, it is not worth it for a stray. You could always shoot it.
