SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University softball team dropped 6-4 and 9-4 decisions to California (Pa.) University Monday.Lisa Getgen and Nikki Collins had RBI singles in the first game for The Rock, who saw a four-game winning streak snapped.In the nightcap, Jessica Ellebruch had a two-out two-run homer in the third inning and Stacey Rhoades added a solo home run for Slippery Rock in the fifth.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville Sounds pitcher Zach Jackson limited the Iowa Cubs to one run and six hits over seven innings in a 6-1 victory Sunday.Jackson, a graduate of Seneca Valley, struck out four and didn't walk a batter for the Sounds, the Class AAA affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.Jackson (1-2) also doubled and scored a run.
