Martin F. Gaynord

Martin F. Gaynord Jr., 77, of Middlesex Township died Friday evening at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born July 15, 1930, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Margaret Burns Gaynord of Pittsburgh and the late Martin F. Gaynord Sr.

He was a restaurant equipment repairman and worked for Universal Restaurant Equipment in Pittsburgh, Easter Seals of Butler County, and most recently for Days Inn in Butler Township.

He was a member of the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He belonged to the Mars VFW Post 7505.

In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Barbara Pelkofer Gaynord, whom he married July 12, 1952; four daughters, Barbara Aho of Boynton Beach, Fla., Patricia Kennihan and her husband, William, of Middlesex Township, Michele Gaynord of Carnegie, and Nora Miller, and her husband, Matthew, of Shaler Township; four sons, Martin Gaynord III, of Middlesex Township, Matthew Gaynord and his wife, Theresa, of Riverdale, N.Y., Mark Gaynord and his wife, Kristy, of Allison Park, and Michael Gaynord of Philadelphia; one daughter-in-law, Sheri Gaynord of Middlesex Township; two sisters, Margaret LaGamba and Audrey Mellon and her husband, Harry, of Pittsburgh; 19 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

<B>GAYNORD</B> — Friends of Martin F. Gaynord Jr., who died Friday, April 18, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Route 8, Glade Mills. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Washington County.Memorials may be made to Holy Sepulcher Church Building Fund, 1304 E.
