Robert G. Sinz
Robert G. Sinz, 84, of Park Crest Lane, formerly of Saxonburg Road, died Friday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Born Feb. 20, 1924, in Butler, he was a son of Charles H. and Alice Lambermont Sinz.
Bob was a 1942 graduate of Butler High School and attended Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. He then proudly served with the Merchant Marines during World War II.
Mr. Sinz was a machinist and retired as general foreman of the machine and forge shops at Armco-Butler Works in 1983 after 37 years.
He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Merchant Marines Veterans Club of New Castle, the Armco Veterans and Management Club, the Happy Hunters Sportsmen's Club, AARP and the Century Club.
Bob was an avid Bocce player and also enjoyed reading, family activities and watching sports and old movies on TV.
His wife, Dorothy I. Miller Sinz, who he married Oct. 25, 1947, survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gregory (Eileen) Green of Butler; two sons and their wives, Donald B. and Elizabeth Sinz of Glen Burnie, Md., and Robert T. and Debbie Sinz of Butler; two sisters, Mrs. Louise McLaren and Mrs. Catherine Shultz, both of Butler; six grandchildren, Jamie, Jason and Jeremy Green, Mrs. Ralph (Melissa Sinz) Deabrunzzo and Timothy and Christina Sinz; a great-grandson, Noah Green; and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave. The Rev. James Dolan will officiate.
