Violet M. Thompson Curry
Violet M. Thompson Curry, 89, of Zelienople died Friday at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Jan. 12, 1919, in Harmony, she was the daughter of Henry and Leona Dunmire Lutz.
Mrs. Curry was a member of the Park United Presbyterian Church, Zelienople, and the AARP. She was a former member of the Harmony Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan.
She is survived by two sons, Charles W. Thompson and his wife, Debbie, of Cranberry Township, and Robert C. Thompson and his wife, Diann, of Jamestown; a brother, Jack L. Lutz and his wife, Jean, of Harmony; three sisters, Bonalea Peffer and her husband, Dan, of Zelienople, Shirley Nemeth and her husband, John, of Nevada, and Joanne Kirker and her husband, Dave, of Zelienople; three grandchildren, Randal W. Thompson and his wife, Missy, of Evans City, Terri Peters of Evans City and Brant L. Thompson of Meadville; three great-grandchildren, Shane Rice, Jaimie Motter and Cali Peters; and two great-great-grandchildren, Colin and Kyle Rice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Thompson, who died Oct. 28, 1974, and her husband, James L. Curry, who died March 24, 1990. She also was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
