Alia Fae Hackbarth
Alia Fae Hackbarth, 18, of Chicora died at 10:24 a.m. Wednesday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, due to injuries from an automobile accident earlier that morning.
She was born in Butler, Oct. 4, 1989, the daughter of John W. and Julia Fae Hunt Hackbarth.
She was employed by Eljay's Perfect-A-Pooch, 1023 Herman Road, Butler, where she was an apprentice dog trainer. She was very passionate about her work and wanted to work with and care for animals. Her goal was to attend school this fall at the National Canine School for Dog Trainers, Columbus, Ohio, to become a certified dog trainer.
She attended Faith United Presbyterian Church, Center Township.
Alia had amazing talent in music, especially with dance and percussion. She took dance lessons from age 3 to 15. She was a member of the Karns City Marching Band. She was a very aggressive competitor, especially in the marching band. She was a developing writer and considered going into journalism.
Surviving are her parents of Chicora; a brother, Wesley Hackbarth at home; her paternal grandmother, Norma Hackbarth of Chicora; her maternal grandparents, Mack and Audrey Hunt of Estes Park, Colo.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
<B>HACKBARTH </B>— Friends of Alia Fae Hackbarth, who died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. James Campbell, retired pastor of Faith United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Cremation services are being handled by the funeral home.
