Charles J. Blakeley, 93, of Saxonburg died Sunday at West Penn Hospital.

Born Nov. 7, 1914, in West Winfield, he was a son of Charles F. and Bertha Mae Baxter Blakeley.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Blakeley had worked in the maintenance department at Du-Co Ceramics and retired in 1979.

He was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saxonburg. He was a charter member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and was a former member of the Saxonburg American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Lucille Bachman Blakeley, whom he married June 25, 1937; a daughter, Sandra (Thomas) Sweesy of Saxonburg; his granddaughters, Tina Sweesy and Tracy Sweesy Ogrodnik; and four great-granddaughters, Monica, Julia, Elena and Emily.

Preceding him in death was a son, Donald.

<B>BLAKELEY</B> — Friends of Charles J. Blakeley, who died Sunday, May 11, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Keller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke's Cemetery in Saxonburg.Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Main Street, Saxonburg, PA 16056.Information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
