Della V. Leach, 47, of Parker died Tuesday in her home following an illness.

She was born March 22, 1961, in Mt. Airy, Md., a daughter of Maynard and Della Fritz Sier.

Mrs. Leach loved spending time with her grandson and also enjoyed playing bingo.

She had been employed at Dean's Flower Shop and at the VFW post in Parker. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Roy Calvin McGinnis VFW Post 7073 in Parker and had served the organization as president.

She was also active with both the Allegheny-Clarion Valley and the Parker Area Football and Baseball Boosters for a number of years.

She is survived by her husband, Michael G. Leach Sr., whom she married March 30, 1978, in Frederick, Md.

Mrs. Leach is also survived by her three children, Danielle M. Leach of Clarion, Michael G. Leach Jr. of Auburndale, Fla., and Daniel J. Leach of Six Points; and her grandson, Zachary A. Hopkins of Clarion.

Also surviving are six brothers, Walter Runkles, of Emmittsburg, Md., Wayne Sier of Mt. Airy, Md., Leonard Sier of Walkersville, Md., Norman Sier of Mt. Airy, Md., Claude Sier of Mt. Airy, Md., Maynard "Pete" Sier, of Union Bridge, Md.; four sisters, Doris DeVal, of New Windsor, Md., Betty Nipper of Hagerstown, Md., Idonia Sier of Walkersville, Md., and Martha Sier of Walkersville, Md.; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Leach, of McCoole, Md.; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law as well as a number of close friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, John Leach.

<B>LEACH</B> — Friends of Della V. Leach, who died May 13, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>HILEFUNERALHOME</B>, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton.Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Bonafed, pastor of St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows Roman Catholic Church of Parker, officiating. Interment will be in the Parker Presbyterian Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
