Clayton L. Majors, 72, of New Castle died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday at his home.

Born June 19, 1933, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Ella E. Stickle Majors and the late Boyd C. Majors.

He was a supervisor for IAConstruction.

He showed horses, raced stock cars, fished, camped, and loved playing with and teaching his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Faith Country Chapel.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy L. Garner Majors, whom he married June 10, 1952; and four children, Sherry L. (Darry) Johnston of New Castle, Jody L. (Jim) Lang of New Castle, Kim L. Majors of New Castle and Wendy L. (Tom) Haswell of New Castle.

He was preceded in death by 10 grandchildren, Paula Boughter, Joshua Copper, Brandon Hinkle, Matt Hinkle, Jennifer Burgess, Steven Lang, Katie Majors, Jake Haswell, Marcus Haswell and Sam Haswell; and by four great-grandchildren, Dylan Hinkle, Savannah Hinkle, Madison Burgess, and Zane Boughter.

He also was preceded in death by a brother, Donald W. Majors in 1953; and a great-grandchild, Nathaniel Copper.

<B>MAJORS</B>— Friends of Clayton L.Majors, who died Thursday, May 15, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Brian Hammond officiating.Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
