F. Larry Stover
F. Larry Stover of Buffalo Township died at 12:45 a.m. Thursday at his home surrounded by his loving family after a 12-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Larry was born on June 29, 1937, in Roaring Springs, Pa., to the late Frank and Mary Trease Stover.
He spent the past 43 years living in Buffalo Township. Larry retired from SE Technologies in Pittsburgh, where he was the vice president of the land mapping division. He served as the president of the International Right of Way Association and president of the Geospatial Information and Technology Association. Because of his position with SE Tech, he and his wife were able to travel all over the world.
Larry was a member of the Syria Shriners of Pittsburgh, New Castle Consistory and Armstrong Lodge 239. He was a member of the Freeport United Methodist Church. He was an active volunteer for the Freeport International Baseball Invitational. He spent many years coaching in the Freeport Little League and Freeport Senior League. Larry spent several years judging Beagle Field Trials across the country. He was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast. His passion for the outdoors was never greater than during deer season in Pennsylvania or more recently with his sons in Texas. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy K. Toy Stover; his two sons, Dave Stover and his wife, Kathleen, and Mark Stover and his wife, Beth, all of Houston, Texas; his daughter, Elizabeth Stover Surgil of Buffalo Township; and his six grandchildren, Brian, Kaitlin, Adam and Kenny Stover of Houston, Texas, and Sabrina and Halle Surgil of Buffalo Township.

Larry Stover, who died Thursday, May 15, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>REDMOND FUNERAL HOME</B>, 524 High St., Freeport. A Masonic Service will be at the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. Saturday.A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Freeport United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edd Myers officiating.
