Louis Hudson Witherup, 85, of Kennerdell died at 7:51 p.m. Thursday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Born on July 1, 1922, in his home in Kennerdell where he lived his whole life, he was the son of Jesse Lee Witherup and Georgia Pearl McClelland Witherup.

A Rockland High School, he founded Witherup Fabrication and Erection in Kennerdell with his brothers.

Louie was active in many organizations and served as a Clinton Township supervisor for years. He was a member of the Church of God in Kennerdell.

He served in the Army in WWII in the Pacific Theater with a half track anti-aircraft division.

Louie will be missed by everyone who met him. He enjoyed the simple things in life and enjoyed every day. He was an active outdoorsman, going on a hunting trip out west just last year. He was also a big sports fan.

Louie loved to be with his family and friends. He made everyone feel like family.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda G. Forsyth and her husband, Dennis, of Grove City, and Nancy A. Thomas and her husband, Ken, of Harrisville; six grandchildren, Michelle H. Santom and her husband, Wayne, of Grove City, Andrea A. Riccomini and her husband, Paul, of South Carolina, Heather L. Caldwell and her husband, Nathan of North Carolina, Brent L. Roberts and his partner, Jamie Martin, of Kennerdell, Amanda L. Blauser and her husband, J.R., of Boyers, and Kathleen M. Roberts of Boyers; and nine great-grandchildren, Hannah, Rebecca and Emma Santon, Haley Oakes, Tyler and Jenna Riccomini, Luke and Zane Caldwell and Blake Roberts.

He married Helen Bonda Witherup on March 30, 1950. She died on Aug. 13, 1996.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded by four brothers, Jay, Robert A., and twins, John Foster and James Forrest Witherup; one sister, Thelma O. Witherup; and two nephews, Richard and James Witherup.

<B>WITHERUP</B> — Friends of Louis Hudson Witherup, who died Thursday, May 15, 2008, will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home</B>, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville. Family will also receive friends from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service Tuesday at the Union Presbyterian Church, 409 Emlenton St., Clintonville, with Dr. Howard Gaston from the Second Presbyterian Church of Oil City and the Rev. Anthony Catullo from the Union Presbyterian Church officiating.Internment will be at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery, Clintonville, with full military honors by the Franklin V.E.T.S. conducting the services.Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, Western PA District, 174 E.
