Marissa DeCola of Center Township won a pair of junior girls golf events this week.

She carded an 83 to win the Southwest Pennsylvania Junior Golf Tour event at Chippewa Golf Club in Bentleyville Tuesday.

She then won a rain-shortened Keystone Premier Golf Association event at Cedar Brook, carding a 39 in nine holes Wednesday.

The Butler seventh-grade summer boys basketball team was victorious over Franklin Regional Thursday, 48-20 at the Pine-Richland Youth Center.Lucas Wesolek led the win with 17 points, Alex Geibel added 14 and Seth Kunkle scored seven points.

NEW WILMINGTON— Butler graduate Sam Harris is among six recruits entering the Westminster College women's volleyball program.The 5-foot-5 Harris is a libero/defensive specialist. She was a three-year letterwinner and team captain at Butler her senior season.She plans to major in financial economics.

Slippery Rock University's Jennifer Hansen has been selected as one of the PSAC's Spring Top Ten Award winners, which honors student-athletes who distinguish themselves in the classroom as well as in competition.The junior pole vaulter on The Rock women's outdoor track and field team posted a 4.0 GPA and is an exercise science major. She became a two-time All-American with her third-place finish at the NCAAChampionships.

NEW YORK — The NHL is threatening to kick the owners of the New York Rangers out of the league or force them to sell the team as punishment for accusing league officials of violating antitrust laws.The NHL filed court papers Wednesday that included a draft letter from commissioner Gary Bettman proposing discipline against Madison Square Garden, L.P., that could lead to suspension or termination of its ownership of the Rangers.
