Dolores Ann Kniss

Dolores Ann Kniss, 77, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Butler, died at 12:35 a.m. March 21 at Allegheny General Hospital.

She was born Dec. 29, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Ivan and Marion Powers Zlindera.

She was a member of St. Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church in Prospect, where she was a cantor, sang in the choir and visited shut-ins. She also sang with ACTS of Butler and in the Butler Festival Choir.

She retired from the insurance industry after 28 years and had worked at the downtown Pittsburgh Kaufmann's store for seven years.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Marion) McDonough of Tylertown, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Kniss, who died Nov. 22, 1998; a daughter, Ruth Deitzel; and a grandchild, Tausha Brister.

<B>KNISS</B> — A memorial Mass for Dolores Ann Kniss, who died Friday, March 21, 2008, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. May 29 at the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave., Pittsburgh. A memorial Mass also will be celebrated at 7 p.m. that day at St. Christophers Catholic Church, 229 N. Franklin St., Prospect.
