Walter Jr.

Ralph C. "Chuck" Walter Jr., 67, of Meridian died Tuesday at the Sugar Creek Rest, Worthington.

Born Jan. 20, 1941, in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Ralph C. Sr. and Anna Rainey Walter.

He was self-employed in the family business of R.C. Walter & Sons, a True Value hardware store, formerly ServiStar, in Boston, Pa.

Mr. Walter was a graduate of the Waynesburg Business College and earned his masters in business administration from Duquesne University.

He was a life member of the McKeesport Gun Club and the NRA and had won many awards for his shooting accuracy. His passions were hunting, hiking and fishing.

He also was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Boston, Pa.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Snyder Walter, whom he married Sept. 15, 1983; a daughter, Marianne Walter and her fiancé, Tom Norris, both of Butler; a son, Richard Walter and his wife, Vicky, of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Robert Walter and his wife, Dorothy, of Elizabeth Township; three granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

<B>WALTER</B> — Private family funeral services were held for Ralph C. "Chuck" Walter Jr., who died Tuesday, May 20, 2008.
