Hovis brothers buy sports complex

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Mercer County — The brothers of Hovis Auto and Truck Supply are the new owners of the Born2Run sports complex, paying $1.65 million.

Cliff and Curt Hovis put the second and final bid on the facility at today's auction. About 50 people attended the auction at the complex.

Cliff Hovis of Grove City said he intends to use the Born2Run complex as an auto supply warehouse. Hovis Auto has 12 locations along Interstate 79 from Erie to Pittsburgh, he said.

"We serve car dealerships, independent garages and your average retail consumer," Cliff Hovis said. "This will be a warehouse for us."

He works at a New Castle location and said he drove past the Born2Run facility every day on his way there. He said they have been considering buying the buildings for six months, but have had their eye on it for years.

"We thought this would be a really nice location for us," he said.
