Manufacturer's addition to be monitored by SAA

CLINTON TWP — A manufacturing company in the Victory Road Business Park is building a small addition to accommodate its new service — making aluminum panels for subway advertisements.

Cygnus Manufacturing plans to build a 25-square-foot room where aluminum parts will be washed.

Because of what will be cleaned off the parts — phosphorus and alkaline — the Saxonburg Area Authority will monitor the phosphorus and pH levels in the sewer line extending from the building.

"We've reviewed their submittal, and we anticipate no problems," said Paul Cornetti, authority manager.

Township supervisor Mary Zacherl said the company also is enclosing its deck.

A message left on the company answering machine Thursday was not returned.

The supervisors July 15 approved the addition pending a letter from the Community Development Corporation of Butler County, which approves any changes to a business.

Cygnus does precision machining, custom fabrication of components and product assembly among other services.

The company's clientele includes the aerospace, medical, transportation and instrumentation industries.
