Eric Skoczlas, son of Thomas Skoczlas of Slippery Rock and Cheryl Dube of Washington Township, was selected to receive specialized gunnery training for the MGS Stryker.Skoczlas, a member of the 56 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Pennsylvania 28th National Guard Division, recently reported to Camp Shelby, Miss., for training.The rest of the brigade will mobilize at Camp Shelby in September for further training in preparation for deployment to Iraq in January. This deployment of 4,500 guardsmen will be one of the largest deployments of its kind in recent history of the 28th Division.The 56th Stryker Brigade, based in Erie, also has armories in Butler, Meadville, Corry and Ford City, and is the only reserve unit trained to use this vehicle.The specialist is currently on leave as a police officer in the Warren (Pa.) Tana Frangioni graduated from the Air Force Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, Fla.Frangioni, a support branch chief, is assigned to the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, and has served in the military for more than 12 years.She is the daughter of Jon Vanderzee of Butler and Palm S. Edinger of Tullahoma, Tenn.Her husband, Ralph, is the son of Ralph K. Frangioni Jr. and Marie Frangioni, both of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.In 1994, Frangioni graduated from Moniteau High School.
