Paul E. Glagola
Paul E. Glagola, 82, of North Bluff Street died Monday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Feb. 20, 1926, in Brownsville, he was a son of Nicholas and Susan Nemetz Glagola.
Paul was a 1944 graduate of the German Township High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in education from California (Pa.) University in 1950. He completed his master's degree in education at the University of Pittsburgh in 1959.
Mr. Glagola was a resident service school instructor for the General Motors Training Center in Monroeville from 1959 until his retirement in 1991. He had taught wood shop at Butler High School from 1952 to 1959.
He was a World War II veteran of the Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora.
He was a life member of the Lyndora Volunteer Fire Department, the Elks Lodge 370 in Uniontown and the Leo Independent Fire Company in Red Lion. He also was a member of the United Commercial Travelers.
His wife, Margaret "Peg" Mucha Glagola, who he married July 12, 1952, survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jeff (Susan S.) Campbell of Butler; three sons, Paul N. "Nick" Glagola and his wife, Jane, of Red Lion, Mark E. Glagola of Dallas, and Charles J. Glagola and his wife, Roxanne, of Butler; a brother and his wife, Joseph and Ruth Glagola of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
<B>GLAGOLA</B> — Friends of Paul E. Glagola, who died Monday, June 23, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Wargo, pastor of the St. Andrew Orthodox Church, officiating.
