Col. Kris Kane

Air Force Col. Kris Kane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kane Sr. of Butler, was awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal for her service as chief, Knowledge Operations and Initiatives Division at the Combined Forces Command and U.S. Forces Korea, Seoul, Korea.

Throughout her tenure, she made significant contributions to the national security of both the Republic of Korea and the United States through enhancements to the combat readiness, interoperability and combined war-fighting capability of ROK and U.S. forces on the Korean Peninsula.

She also received a Letter of Commendation from the Republic of Korea Minister of National Defense.

Kane departed Korea at the end of July for her new assignment at the Space and Missile Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif.

Kyle Mauthe has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.Mauthe, son of Norma Eng of Karns City, is a 2007 graduate of Moniteau High School.———Navy Seaman
